Hi again Lisa, I was wondering when you will be having the sampler Witches Hallows available to purchase. I love it a whole lot. I love alot of your work. Now just to see about getting some of your charts. Your work is amazing. celticdreamweave@yahoo.com Sherry
My question is about a chart I saw at the 2009 Christmas Ornaments by Just Cross Stitch. I was surprised to see a black angel (Penny Angel) with a "1822" date above it ("Old Fashioned Holiday" page 54). I have done research on old samplers, and I have never seen a black character. I can't imagine anyone at that time would have stitched a black angel... So where did you get inspiration for this particular work--if you don't mind telling me, of course. Thanks for your attention and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Emilia Rosa
Hi Emilia, I admire old samplers, but have not done any research on them. About 15 years ago I picked up a black angel ornament from a craft show, which I hang on my tree every year. That is where the idea for a black angel came from. And the year, was just a year I picked out. No historical importance to it. You have a nice Thanksgiving also.
Thanks, Lisa. This should be good for everyone. Just print it out after clicking on the image! I'm excited about this one. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the words of encouragement Margaret!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. I've printed off the correct legend with ease. My chart arrived today... thanks! You are the best.
ReplyDeleteI'd be thrilled to stitch another model for you.
