This is Lisa's daughter, Mariah. I just wanted to let everybody know that while driving to work, she was swept away in the river. She had been missing since yesterday at 6 a.m. but this morning, firefighters found her body in her car. She was the best person I know. She was also more than a fantastic wife and mother, the best any of us could ask for.

    She was so kind to me be sending me once a freebie of her that was giving at a market, but since I'm from the Netherlands that was to far for me, so she send it by post.

    There are no words to say how very sorry we (the cross stitch community) are to learn of the passing of your dear mom. She blessed us with her creativity, her sense of humour and her love of her friends and family. The world lost a very special person yesterday. We prayed and prayed for her safety.     It is with tremendous sadness that I learned this morning of Lisa's passing. I can only imagine what a devastating loss this is for your family.     The loss of such creativity diminishes us all, but her work does remain: memory made tangible. I doubt that it is much consolation to you and your family at this stage but perhaps, at some later time, you may take comfort in the knowledge that many stitchers continue to bring Lisa Roswell's vision into actual being with needle, thread and linen.

    I can't imagine the loss of your Mom for your family - as she must have been the heart and soul of your home. Look at how many people whose lives she has touched - through her work as a nurse, her work as a designer, and as a friend to so many.
